RARE YELLOWLEGS DECOY Cape Cod, MA, 19th Century
Maker unknown. Shoe button eyes. Carved wings, with tips carved with horizontal rows of V" forms simulating feathers. Original bill. Original dry paint with little wear and minor crazing to chest. Right side of chest has three shot holes. Similar example in Henry A. Fleckenstein, Jr.'s Shorebird Decoys, p. 55, plate 23. Rig mate sold at Richard A.
