POLYCHROME SCRIMSHAW WHALE'S TOOTH Mid-19th Century
Depicting a woman in elegant dess with a red, white and blue shield at her feet. The black-haired woman has a foliate wreath set atop her head, is wearing a blue jacket with red sleeve banding, and is seated in a caned chair. Exceptional details throughout, and excellent patina. Believed to be a mate to the preceding lot. Height 6.
