EXCEPTIONAL AMERICAN TALL-CASE CLOCK Late 19th Century
By William Bond. Highly stylized mahogany case. Bonnet with carved open fretwork, three brass finials, deep relief-carved shell and fluted full columns. Face with open foliate work surrounding a steel dial with Roman numerals. Chime and silent adjustment upper left. Westminster and Whittington at upper right. Second sweep in center. Nameplate marked Wm. Bond & Son, Boston. No. 450". Case with arched-panel door with deep relief carved shell. Brass capped quarter columns. Ogee bracket feet. An exceptional time piece. Approx. height 92"."
