Description

ANTIQUE AMERICAN HEPPLEWHITE SIDEBOARD New York, Circa 1790
In mahogany. Top with string inlay at upper and lower edge. Serpentine front with four drawers over three cupboards and one wine drawer with compartmented interior. Each drawer and cupboard door retains original oval brasses and has narrow banded inlay borders and quarter-fan inlays at corners. Tapered legs, each with a cut-corner panel inlay at top over an elongated oval panel inlay over modified bellflower and string inlay. Legs cuffed at bottom with two-color banding. Height 41. Width 73". Depth 26".

Condition

Minor surface wear to finish at top. Small patch on left door. Refinished sometime ago. Otherwise good condition with slight amount of crazing and wear to veneer at door faces.
