CASED PRISONER-OF-WAR BONE MODEL OF THE U.S. FRIGATE CONSTELLATION Early 19th Century
Bone and wood sides with twenty-eight guns, and bone deck mounted with ten guns, bringing the ship's total to thirty-eight guns. One of the Six Original Frigates" commissioned under the Naval Act of 1794, the Constellation achieved nationwide fame as the first U.S. Naval vessel to defeat any enemy ship. She was built in Baltimore in 1797 and was decommissioned in 1853. Height 16". Length 23".
