SHIP'S FIGUREHEAD 19th Century
In the form of a woman with finely carved brown hair and a flowing red, white and blue dress. She was never mounted and may have been used as a display outside a carver's shop. Height 47.
Note: The family of the consignor reports this piece was purchased at Parke-Bernet (Sotheby's) in the 1930s or 1940s."

Condition

Some age splitting to wood. Old paint shows normal wear with traces of other paints below.
