PAINTED PARCHMENT AND IVORY FOLDING FAN Italian, 18th Century
Double-sided leaf with three vignettes on front: left shows a boy blowing bubbles, right shows a girl playing with her doll, and the central shows a couple playing musical instruments and three women watching a bird being released from a cage. Borders illustrated with flowers and musical instruments. Ivory wide sticks are intricately carved, pierced, colored and gilded with flowers, figures, and musical instruments. Mother-of-pearl washer. Length 10.5".
