Description

U.S. MODEL 1872 CAVALRY OFFICER'S PRESENTATION SWORD AND SCABBARD Circa 1900
Made by B. Pasquals Co. San Francisco. Ornate handle and pommel with eagle and bearded figure decoration. Black sharkskin wire-wrapped grip. Sword guard with winged eagle and liberty shield decoration. Blade etched with eagle, liberty shield and foliate decoration on one side. Reverse with U.S." and flag and foliate decoration. Nickel-plated scabbard with raised gold-colored eagle, liberty shield and foliate decoration. Inscribed "Presented to Captain Thomas Eides by the Members of Co. H1st Regt. L.C.C. Oct. 14th 1903". Length of blade 34"."
