In old green paint. Dovetail construction. Beautifully carved cleats with heart and star design. Intricate sailor-made ropework becket handles. W.S." painted on front. Painted design of hearts, moons, stars and "William. Swain. of. Orleans. County. of. Barnstable. State. of. Massachusetts. 1839." on interior of lid. Original strap hinges and interior till. Height 16.5". Width 35.25". Depth 16.75"."
