Pair of folk bust portraits: A woman wearing a lace bonnet with yellow ribbon, a lace collar and a black dress, and a gentleman wearing white stock and a black jacket seated in a yellow chair. Unsigned.
Oils on canvas, 28 x 24". Unframed."

Condition

Original stretcher bars and not relined. Many of the original tacks are present, but the canvases are affixed to the stretcher bars with later staples. Both canvases have tears to wrapped areas of the canvas and are loose on the stretchers. Both paintings have scratches and paint loss along the edges due to frame rubbing. Examination under UV light reveals numerous small dots of in paint
