Description

RARE CURLEW DECOY ATTRIBUTED TO NATHAN COBB, JR. Cobb Island, Virginia, 19th Century
German black glass eyes. Original bill. Carved V tail. Wonderful original paint showing little wear for such an early decoy. Lightly hit by shot. Wear and some roughness to tail and wing tips. Length 14.
Note: It is our strong belief this is a Nathan Cobb curlew without the serifed N signature.
Provenance:
A Nantucket Estate.
