Description

STERLING SILVER YACHTING TROPHY BY WHITING
Inscribed Atlantic Yacht Club Regatta June, 22-1875 Prize For First Class Sloops Won by - Yacht - Undine". Engraved decoration of a gaff-rigged sloop flying an American flag on reverse. Atlantic Yacht Club burgees and foliate sprigs around rim and foot; foot also decorated with anchors. Ropework molding below rim. Stem in the form of a mermaid sitting atop a rock and holding a cluster of coral above her head. Height 13.75". Approx. 26.0 troy oz.

Condition

Minor denting to bowl. There are two pin prick-size dents and a line dent and shallow dent that are each approx. 1. Foot is very slightly out of round and wobbles slightly. There is a halo from one of the seams visible on the bowl. It has not bee over-polished."
