Four titles by William Faulkner. 1) Requiem for a Nun. N.Y.: Random House, 1950, 1951. Illustrator E. McKnight Kauffer misspelled as M. McKnight Kauffer, $3.00 price and no indication of edition stated, all indicating volume is a first edition first state. O. Sage green cloth with black cloth spine with gilt lettering. Top edge stained charcoal. Dj with minor edge wear. Some offsetting of title page onto facing page. Lightly toned. Small smudge on bottom page edges. 2) Pylon. N.Y.: Harrison Smith and Robert Haas, Inc., 1935. First printing as stated on copyright page. 12 mo. Blue boards with black wrap-around title band and gilt lettering. Dj with chips, cracks and minor loss, but $2.50 price intact. Some browning to endpapers, but no other mars or damages noted. 3) Intruder in the Dust. N.Y.: Random House, 1948. First stating as printed on copyright page. O. Black boards with gilt and dark blue lettering and dotted line design. Dj with very slight wear and discoloration at edges; price of $2.50 still intact. Slight browning to endpapers and minor knicks to page edges, but generally bright and clean. 4) A Fable N.Y.: Random House, 1950, 1954. First printing as stated on copyright page. O. Burgundy cloth with black and blind embossed design of three crosses on cover. Buff-colored and silvered lettering on spine. Dj with moderate edge wear, including some loss on spine and a crack extending onto front panel. Price of $4.75 and 8/54" still intact. No damages or mars noted except for some slight blemishes on page edges.
