Cape Cod, 1910-1982

A seaside picnic depicting two mermaids and a child mermaid around a table covered in conch and other shells. Nearby a mermaid feeds Canada geese and a child mermaid plays with a ship model. A sailor at left wearing a straw boater marked “U.S.N.” reads the “Shipping News” and the “Wall Street Journal”. Signed lower right “R. Cahoon”.
Provenance: Private Collection, Alabama.
Oil on masonite, 18 x 22". Framed 22.5" x 26.5"."
