GILMAN JOSLIN 12 INCH TERRESTRIAL TABLE GLOBE Boston, Circa 1870
With twelve paper gores. Countries depicted in various colors and the oceans in beige. Cartouche and analemma showing the declination of the sun placed in the Pacific Ocean. Full calibrated brass meridian ring and adjustment screw. Walnut horizon band with signs of the zodiac and calendar. Cast iron tripod base. Total height 18.5."

Condition

The whole globe with layer of fine craquelure. Minor scattered lifting, tearing, and loss to paper, particularly at seams. Scattered minor scuffs. Horizon ring with scattered water marks and light staining. Rust/corrosion to iron feet.
