POLYCHROME SCRIMSHAW WHALE'S TOOTH Second Quarter of the 19th Century
Depicts a spread-wing eagle clutching a shield, an olive branch and a brace of arrows. Full-rigged ship flying an American flag in wavy seas at base. Depiction of the sea wraps around circumference of the base. Red sealing wax at stripes of shield. Nicely detailed rigging and sails. Length 7.
