Description

EXTREMELY RARE WHALEMAN-MADE BIRDCAGE Mid-19th Century
Whalebone framework comprised of square supports and cylindrical dowels. Arched roof. Single door with metal hinges. Interior fitted with hanging perch and free-standing exercise ladder. Height 29. Length 18.25". Width 20.5".
Note: Mittler indicated to Nina Hellman this was his favorite piece in his collection.
