Description

WHALEMAN-MADE WATCH TOWER IN THE FORM OF A TALL-CASE CLOCK Mid-19th Century
Mahogany case with whalebone mounts and geometric embellishments. Sliding lid at top of clock opens to reveal watch compartment. Mid-section of clock mounted with a watercolor depicting a lady and a gentleman in a landscape. Base section of clock with a small drawer with whalebone knob, whalebone escutcheon and baleen banding. Height 11.75.

Condition

Diamond-form inlay on left side of clock hood was replaced some time ago with a composite material that resembles whalebone. Minor imperfections to case.
