Two-part porcelain egg with gold-plated anchor-form finial and medial lid. Porcelain base in the form of Sydney Opera House. Upper half of egg with alternating panels of polychrome yacht racing scenes and a gilt flag and standard design in gilt on cobalt blue. Lower half of egg with alternating panels of gilt yachts on white and gilt compass rose designs on cobalt blue. Egg and base with faux marble and gilt highlights. Medial cover cast as a racing yacht in rough seas. Lower half of egg marked on interior "The Royal Worcester Ocean Racing Egg 1987 A Celebration of the Greatest Yacht Races in the World". Also marked with the Royal Worcester seal and "Modelled by Kenneth Potts No. 42 of 50". Marked on underside of base with Royal Worcester seal and "1987 Royal Worcester The Ocean Racing Egg 1987". Height of egg and porcelain stand 10". Also includes a wooden base with coordinating painted decoration."
