Description

GRUEBY FA¤ENCE AND TILE COMPANY KENDRICK VASE Boston, Early 20th Century
Designed by George Prentiss Kendrick. Pierced balustroid body modeled with nine carved leaf tips. Thin matte green glaze. Impressed circular fa´ence factory mark on underside. Height 12.5. Includes original two-light copper vase cap and neck."

Condition

All over crazing with staining (particularly at shoulder). Approx. 1/8 chip near base of one pierced opening. One edge of leaf tip with approx. 1/4" chip. Several glaze flakes to peaked leaf tips along rim. Not drilled for wiring. No restorations. Does come with a paper shade, which is a wreck. Winning bidder may have the shade, if they would like.

Provenance: Private Cape Cod Collection. Came from a rental house on Bass River, in Yarmouth, MA. Been in family for about 100 years. Found on floor in pantry."
