Description

POLYCHROME SCRIMSHAW WHALE'S TOOTH Mid-19th Century
Obverse depicts a whaling scene with whaleship, three whaleboats in the water and four whales, two of which have been harpooned. Three birds fly above. Reverse depicts a whale drawn alongside a whaleship and the crew cutting in. Length 7.75.
