U.S. MODEL 1850 CIVIL WAR PRESENTATION SWORD AND SCABBARD
Scabbard etched with inscription Presented to J. Stewart Brown 51st Reg. Mass. Vo by his friends". James Stewart Brown enlisted April 16, 1861 as a sargent and served in G Company of the Massachusetts 6th Infantry. On November 11, 1862 he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant and joined Field & Staff of the Massachusetts 51st Infantry. Length of blade 32"."

Condition

Tip of blade damaged. Missing foot of scabbard. Light pitting and overall wear.
