TOBACCONIST FIGURE American, 19th Century
Carved and painted wooden figure of an American Native maiden wearing a feathered headdress, moccasins, and orange, red, green and cream-colored clothing. She is holding goods in her left hand. On a contemporary rectangular base. Figure height 48.25. Overall height 63.5".

Condition

Numerous age splits. Old paint shows average wear, with some flaking. Some possible restoration to feathers and right side of hair close to ear.
