Description

TWO-PART BUTLER'S SECRETARY English, Circa 1820
In mahogany and mahogany veneer. Upper section with two cathedral arched glazed doors that enclose three interior shelves. Lower section with four full-width drawers, the top drawer simulating two, and a shaped bracket base. The top drawer folds down to create a butler's desk fitted with drawers and pigeonholes. Replacement oval brass pulls with raised decoration of a standing lion. Height 87.5. Width 48.5". Depth 21.75"."

Condition

Feet cut down slightly and need tightening up. Burn marks. Veneer loss. Right and left sides of upper section each with three screws to support one of the top shelves. Nice, warm color.
