PATRIOTIC POLYCHROME SCRIMSHAW WHALE'S TOOTH Mid-19th Century
Depicts a three-masted sailing ship flying a large American flag off her stern. Above the ship is a spread-wing eagle perched on an American shield surrounded by American flags, two crossed cannons and a stack of cannonballs. A fine example of patriotic American scrimshaw. Excellent patina. Length 7.

Narrow age split at left side. Slight age splits at base. One chip at lower back edge at base.
