Description

NEW HAMPSHIRE SAMPLER
Wrought by Sarah Molton (alternately spelled Moulton) and dated 1801. Upper portion with rows of alphabets. Central portion with the Moulton family record including father Thomas born in 1754, mother Elizabeth born in 1761 and siblings. Lower portion with trees and animal figures. 15.5 x 12.75" sight. Framed 18.5" x 15.5".
Genealogical research indicates the Moulton family lived in one of the original homesteads in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire. Sarah never married and lived with her brother and his wife until her death in 1871."
