Description

HEPPLEWHITE DEMILUNE COMMODE CABINET Salem, Massachusetts Circa 1800
In mahogany and select flame mahogany veneer. Central drawer flanked by two hinged cabinet doors, all above four cabinet doors. Lower side cabinets with single interior shelf; central cabinet with pullout linen drawers. Scoop drop skirt. French splayed bracket feet.
These cabinets made by American cabinetmakers are rarely found, and most were made by the shop of Thomas and John Seymour. Similar examples in American Furnitureby Luke Beckerdite (ed), annual publication, Chipstone Foundation.. Height 42. Width 55". Depth 22.75"."

Condition

Hardware replaced. Slight age split in top.
