Description

AARON WILLARD BANJO CLOCK Circa 1810
Mahogany case with gilt finial, door frames and presentation bracket. Roman numeral dial signed Aaron Willard Boston". Original eglomise throat and door glass. Throat glass depicts a dove perched on a fruit compote, over "Willard Patent" with eagle and shield. Lower door glass depicts the sun and a classical female carried through the sea by mermaids. Height 42"."

Condition

A screw has been replaced. Gilt flaking to presentation bracket and finial. Some paint flaking to reverse painted glass. Rubbing from hands on clock face (seen at approximately 7 o'clock).
