American, Early 20th Century

Greylock from Journey's End, Ashfield, Mass." Monogrammed lower right "EHF". Titled and signed verso.
A 1902 graduate of Smith College, Ethel Hale Freemen went on to study at the Art School of Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. She eventually returned to Smith for her M.A., then taught elocution and drama at the college. She resided on a farm in Ashfield, Massachusetts until her passing in 1963.
Oil on board, 10" x 14". Framed 11.5" x 15.5"."
