HELEN LINCOLN SORENSEN
Massachusetts/Maine, 1870-1929

Interior scene with young woman reading by a lamp. Unsigned. Inscribed verso H.L. Sorensen". Also identified on a Vose Gallery label verso.
Sorensen's works are quite scarce on the market as she passed away before the full potential of her career could be fulfilled. Her big break occurred just two years before her death when she had a show at Vose Gallery in Boston.

Condition

Soiled. A few small punctures to the canvas including three to the upper left and one large slit tear to the left of the sitter and the right of the lamp. Period frame as is with lossed to gilding.
