Description

FOUR PAMPHLETS IN SUPPORT OF DEWITT CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT Election of 1812
1-2) Differing copies of Irvine's Address". Both signed "B. Irvine". Irvine was the editor of the Baltimore Whig. 3) "Jefferson Against Madison's War, Being an Exhibition of the Late President Jefferson's Opinions of the Impolicy, and Folly of All Wars, Especially for the United States, Together with Some Remarks on the Present War, and the Propriety of Choosing Electors who Will Vote for a Peace President. By a True Republican." 4) "Touchstone to the People of the United States, on the Choice of a President." (N.Y.: Pelsue & Gould, 1812.) Believed to be written by Elbert Herring, a lawyer, judge and friend of Clinton's."
