Description

FOUR PIECES OF EARLY CURRENCY AND BANK NOTES 1780-1837
1) A two dollar note issued by the state of Rhode-Island. Dated July 2, 1780. Signed on obverse M Bowler" (Metcalfe Bowler) in black and illegibly in red. Signed on reverse "Jona. Arnold". 2.75" x 3.75". 2) Two Shillings & Six Pence note issued by the state of Rhode-Island. Dated 1786. Signed twice, both illegible, one in black and one in red. 5.25" x 3.25". 3) Five dollar note from Washington Bank in Westerly, Rhode Island. Circa 1808. Lines for persons payable, date and authorized signatures left blank. 3" x 7.25". 4) Three dollar note from Washington Bank, Westerley [sic], Rhode Island. Dated May 29, 1837. Possibly a counterfeit. 6" x 2.75"."

Condition

Wear commensurate with age. 4) Repair to right side of note.
