Description

WARREN ARTILLERY COMPANY DOCUMENT Rhode Island, 1842
Possibly pertaining to a company that served during the Dorr Rebellion. Printed and inscribed at top A Return of the Men, Arms, Ammunition and Accoutrements, of the Chartered Independent Company of Artillery called the Warren Artillery in the town of Warren State of Rhode Island, commanded by Samuel Pearce. Chartered, May 1842. Inspected, ____________ 184_". Words "Arms, Ammunition and Accoutrements" and "Inspected" are crossed out. Includes handwritten roll of officers and privates and printed grids marked with officer rankings and supplies. Image of an eagle clutching olive leaves and arrows upper left corner. Addressed on reverse to Elisha Dyer, Jr., Adjutant General, R.I. Militia. 17" x 14"."

Condition

Creased along fold lines. Red sealing wax remnants at lower margin. Tear along fold lines at center of document, possibly from when it was originally unsealed. Other very small holes at intersections of fold lines. Evenly toned.
