1) Great Pearce Meeting." Circa 1833. Provides a statement from Pearce on his nomination for the Senate. 21.25" x 8.5". 2) "Fellow-Citizens of Rhode-Island". Dated Providence, August 22, 1829. Signed in print "Tristam Burges". Supports Pearce's re-election to Congress. 15.75" x 15.25".
3) "To the Freemen of Rhode-Island! The following Correspondence will show in part, the character and conduct of Dutee J. Pearce ...". Dated 1833. Claims Pearce "stands convicted of treachery, calumny, and lying." 21.25" x 15". 4) "To the Democratic Freemen of Rhode-Island. What claim has Dutee J. Pearce on the Democratic Electors of this State, for their Votes at the ensuing August Election?". Circa 1837. Comments on a protest to Pearce's nomination. 16" x 12". 5) "Election Day at Hand." Dated Nov. 24, 1825. Compares the merits of Pearce against incumbent Job Durfee in the race for Congress. 14.5" x 10.5"."


1) Slightly creasing. Unevenly trimmed, possibly as issued. Early ink inscription verso. Some discoloration on left margin. 2) Toned with some uneven discoloration. Chipped and small tears/losses at edges. Tear along horizontal center crease with very small loss at center. One additional small area of loss center column, approx. 4 below edge. 3) Toned. Waterstains. Creased. Very thin pull/tear in the paper, running on the diagonal in the first column of text. Small loss in center column along fold line. 4) Toned. Stamp on reverse. Chipped and small tears at edges. Loss of lower left corner. Scattered foxing. Tape residue bottom margin. 5) Multiple areas of loss, from small holes to larger tears. Toned. Uneven edges. Creased."
