VIRGINIA PRESIDENTIAL BALLOTS Circa 1824-1892
Approx. 52 ballots, together with a yellow envelope marked How Virginia was Voted Out of the Union!!!" below an image of a polling booth surrounded by numerous men, some of whom are pointing guns at each other. Includes ballots for William H. Crawford, Andrew Jackson, John Quincy Adams, Henry Clay, Martin Van Buren, William Henry Harrison, James K. Polk, Zachary Taylor, Lewis Cass, Franklin Pierce, Winfield Scott, James Buchanan, John C. Fremont, Millard Fillmore, Stephen A. Douglas, John C. Breckinridge, John Bell, Abraham Lincoln, Horace Greeley, Rutherford B. Hayes, Samuel J. Tilden, James A. Garfield, Winfield Scott Hancock, Grover Cleveland, Benjamin Harrison and James B. Weaver. Includes multiple differing examples for some candidates. Some with patriotic images and/or decorative borders; Buchanan ballot has bust portraits of Buchanan and Vice Presidential nominee John C. Breckinridge."

Condition

Wear commensurate with age including staining, toning, foxing, creases, tears, minor losses, etc. Some with handwritten ink markings. Generally well preserved.
