PHILLIP E. ZELLER MINIATURE STANDING CANADA GOOSE East Arlington, Vermont, 20th Century
Glass eyes. Raised feather carving. Standing on an oval walnut base with chipped carving along edge. Signed and dated on underside Canada Goose P. Zeller 1974". Height 12.5".
Phillip Zeller was very familiar with the shores of Cape Cod, akin to master carver A. Elmer Crowell. Zeller exhibited for several years at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum's annual Birds in Art Exhibit in Wausau, Wisconsin. His entry from 1979, a kingfisher, was selected for the Smithsonian Institution in 1980."
