19TH CENTURY RHODE ISLAND GOVERNMENT EPHEMERA
1-7) Seven printed letters addressed to the governor of Rhode Island that accompanied copies of legislative proceedings or state documents. Dated from 1831 to 1837. Sent from the Clerk's Office of the U.S. House of Representatives, Governor John Reynolds of Illinois, Maine's Secretary of State, Pennsylvania's Deputy Secretary, the U.S. Department of State, Mississippi's Secretary of State and the Executive Department of Arkansas. Some with handwritten notations and/or seals.

8-10) Three copies of the broadside Joint Committees of the Two Houses, May Session, 1850".

11) Broadside "Standing Committees of the House. May Session, 1849." Wilbor's name is crossed out with an illegible handwritten name above it.
12) Broadside "Senate, May Session, 1851" listing Governor Philip Allen, Lieutenant Governor William Beach Lawrence, and the "Roll of the Senate" with columns for "Ayes" and "Nos". The "Albert" in "Albert W. Macy" is crossed out with a handwritten "Seth" next to it.

13-15) Three copies of the pamphlet "List of Members, And Rules of the Senate of Rhode-Island. June, 1843" (Providence: Knowles and Vose, 1843). Two appear to attain original brown wraps.

16) Broadside dated "Providence, Nov. 13, 1836" pertaining to the upcoming Presidential election. Notes "Unless our friends in the Country Towns are active and take means to get out our whole strength, the State will be lost to Van Buren". Signed in print by Dexter Randall, John R. Waterman and William Simons.

17) "Circular to the Incorporated Banks of the State of Rhode-Island" dated 1837. Provides instructions for bank reports. Addressed in ink verso to "His Excellency John Brown Francis" with postal markings. Unsigned pencil note on obverse.

18) Broadside "Abstract of the Returns of the several Banks in this State, made to the General Assembly, at their October Session, A.D. 1833."
19) Pamphlet "Further Report of the Finance Committee of the Senate, Under the Resolution of June Session, 1851, on the Affairs of the General Treasury. January Session, 1852" (Providence: Sayles & Miller, 1852). Fold-out "Tabular Statement of Receipts and Expenditures ..." at rear.
20) Portion of a pamphlet with "Second Session, May, 1824" in upper margin. Untrimmed at top edge.
21) Broadside "Standing Committees, May Session, 1847."
