PRO-VAN BUREN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION BROADSIDE FROM RHODE ISLAND Circa 1836
Herald Office, Providence, Nov. 13, 1836" addressed to the "Freemen of Rhode-Island". Supports Democrats Martin Van Buren and Governor John Brown Francis and cautions against the "inaccuracy of the Whig statements" and that "the opposition are and have been at work secretly to carry this State for the White and Harrison Ticket". Provides Electoral College results from five states and an analysis of the election in Virginia and Ohio. Signed in print by Dexter Randall, William Simons, et al. Old inscription on reverse. 19.25" x 6"."

Condition

Ink inscription on reverse is visible on the front. Toned, with some scattered darker browning. Creased both horizontally and vertically, with additional fold lines at corners. Some slight tears, particularly on fold lines. Pencil inscription near list of names.
