H.M.S. UNINCORN French/English, circa 1800
The hull, built up from the solid and planked in bone, with a baleen waist and sheer line, the gun ports cut and pierced with fixed covers, and blackend brass cannons, carved bone figurehead of a Unicorn", carved and pierced stern and quarter galleries, and other decoratif motifs. Detailed with head rails, metal anchors, bone planked decks, pin and fife rails, belfry, capstans, well deck with railings and bas-relief carved foliate decoration, hatch gratings, guns on carriages, taff rail, and other details. Throughout the entire model are numerous delicately carved elements on the hull, stem, railings and other areas of the ship. Rigged with chain plates and dead-eyes, masts, yards, standing and running rigging with bone blocks, spars, and other details. Displayed on a later mahogany board within a glass framed mahogany case with cathedral top and brass handle.

Overall excellent condition. The model has been re-rigged, and it appears the upper masts, cross spars, gaffs, boom, and bowsprit have been replaced, circa 1976.
