WHALE IVORY PIE CRIMPER Mid-19th Century
Two-part handle separated by a baleen spacer. Upper half with hanging loop, an openwork heart and star, and stepped architectural carvings. Lower half carved in the form of a lady's leg wearing a boot. Offset lyre-form yoke supports an openwork fluted wheel. Stepped carving mounted on yoke; practical use unknown and possibly just decorative. Length 8."

Condition

Crack on one side of thigh. Small age line/crack on architectural carving near baleen spacer.
