Description

SCRIMSHAW WHALEBONE SEAM RUBBER Mid-19th Century
One side of blade engraved with a ship and boat, contained within a rectangle with quarter moons at corners. Handle engraved on both sides. One side with a heart within a sawtooth border. The other side with a foliate design contained within a sawtooth border. Length 4.25.

Old gouge, possibly done in the making, on edge of terminal on side with heart engraving.
