Description

WATCH HUTCH WITH WHALEBONE AND WALRUS IVORY ADORNMENTS Mid-19th Century
Carved from walnut in the form of a tall-case clock. Arched bonnet with circular aperture for pocket watch. Waist section with an inlaid whalebone faux escutcheon and an arched panel simulating a pendulum door. Base section with single drawer with whalebone trim and diamond-shaped inlay. Whalebone trim along corners of clock case. Diamond-shaped whalebone and walrus ivory inlay on side panels. Turned whalebone feet. Height 11.5."

Condition

Two front finials possibly painted wood, not bone or ivory. Two rear finials missing. Drawer missing a piece of trim. Age cracks in wood.
