NAPOLEONIC PRISONER-OF-WAR CARVED BONE SPINNING JENNY French/English, Early 19th Century
Mechanized model; turning the handle activates the spinning wheel and windmill on upper platform. Two bonnet-clad women stand at the wheel, one holding a child and the other a bunch of flax. Lower platform with hand crank and wheels. Platforms joined by turned columns and are raised on a turned foot. Some traces of red coloring. Includes period and possibly original box. Height 5.5."
