The Bridge". Depicts Boston's Beacon Hill across the Charles River. Signed and dated in plate lower left "G.H. McCord 1887". Engraved by John Henry Hill (American, 1839-1922). Inspired by the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem, "The Bridge", which starts
"I stood on the bridge at midnight
As the clocks were striking the hour
And the moon rose o'er the city
Behind the dark church-tower".

Engraving on paper, 19" x 29" sight. Framed 34" x 43"."
