Description

NAPOLEONIC PRISONER-OF-WAR NEAR-SCALE WOODEN MODEL OF A FRENCH 68-GUN MAN-OF-WAR French/English, Early 19th Century
Made from boxwood and other exotic woods. Copper-colored hull, with black bands between gun ports. Detailed with cut and pierced gun ports fitted with blackened brass cannons, a carved boxwood shield-bearing figurehead, rigging, deck fittings, etc., and flying a French flag and a long red pennant. Period arch-topped double-door mahogany and glass case with urn-form finials and ball feet. Case height 19. Width 19". Depth 8"."
