JAPANESE TWO-PART TANSU Meiji Period, Circa 1900
In elmwood, with zelkova drawer fronts faced with circular chased iron lock plates. Iron corner mounts and bail handles. Side pocket handles on both sections. Upper section with two full-width drawers. Lower section with a full-width drawer over a short drawer and a tobacco storage compartment. Compartment door opens to reveal two small drawers. Height 38.5. Width 35.75". Depth 17.5".

Light wear to teh wood about the edges and slight wear to the iron bindings. Overall good structural condition, no obvious damages noted.
