Description

PAIR OF FRAMED PAINTINGS American, Circa 1835-1840 Portraits of a man and a woman. Seated woman wearing a brown dress and lace bonnet and holding a fan in her right hand, with a column to her left and waterfall in background. Seated man with a red drape to his left and a window to his right, showing a lake scene with a man fishing on a point. Accompanied by a copy of Sears family lineage from Chatham, Massachusetts. Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 30" x 25".

Condition

Woman has inpaint in and around her face and hands. Man has inpaint in and around his face and hands and to the left background in a triangular tear shape. Both with heavy reline. Old gilt wood beveled frames palmette leaf corners have age but probably not original.
