MOST IMPORTANT WATERCOLOR OF TWO MANCHURIAN PRINCESSES
Signed and dated 1939 above the Butterfly seal. This beautiful watercolor is illustrated as plate 22 in Watercolors of Paul Jacoulet by Richard Miles. An excerpt from that book states, He worked feverishly on the watercolors..a series of ten elaborate studies that would be known as the Manchurian Princesses...he decided to take elaboration to a new level in the watercolor medium, using the most lavish and colorful designs for Chinese Manchu-style robes...21 x 16".Ex: Child Collection"
