(HISTORY) Five books by W.H. Prescott. 1) History of the Conquest of Mexico. Three vols. Philadelphia, (1873). 2) History of the Conquest of Peru. Two vols. Philadelphia, 1874. All with matching bindings. O. Green cloth with gilt title. Good overall condition.
Provenance: Descended in the family of Captain Lorenzo Dow Baker of Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Capt. Baker was the first American to import bananas and other fruit from the Caribbean, forming the foundation on which United Fruit was built.
