Portrait of a seated woman in a white coat holding a parasol. Monogrammed lower right C.M.A.[?] Paris 190[?]". Canvas preparer's label verso for "Lucien Lefebvre-Foinet, Paris". Remnants of a French label on reverse indicate the piece was exhibited in a Philadelphia Exposition. Period hand-carved American Arts & Crafts frame in later white paint. Framed with a Tilden-Thurber, Providence label.

Original canvas. UV light reveals no obvious restoration. Varnish layer with substantial dirt and grime. Needs cleaning.
